Job description

The CAD Operator will support and implement the goals, objectives, policies, and priorities for the Utility Department that are aligned with the DZSP's mission and in accordance with the Performance Work Statement (PWS). Maintain and update utility maps, drawings, schematic diagrams using the latest AutoCAD electronic data file format. Ensure that AutoCAD drawings and maps are revised in accordance with the PWS.

Ensure accuracy of maps and drawings in accordance with the PWS. Store versions of system maps and drawings in accordance with the PWS. Prepares complete sets of complex drawings which include multiple views, details drawings, and assembly drawings.

Drawings include complex design features that require considerable drafting skill to visualize and portray. Works from sketches, models, and verbal information supplied by an engineer, architect, or designer to determine the most appropriate views, detail drawings, and supplementary information needed to complete assignments. Selects required information from precedents, manufacturers catalogs, and technical guides.

Independently resolves most problems encountered. Work with engineers, architects, clients, and other professionals to ensure designs are completed to specifications and safety regulations. May need to use manual drawing skills and be required to visit sites.

Fulfill other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Must possess a high school diploma, or equivalent. Must have a minimum of five (5) years of related experience.

Must be knowledgeable of AutoCAD and engineering. Must be proficient in computer and Microsoft Programs. DESIRED: o Graduated with an Associate's or bachelor's degree in Drafting or a related field from a U.S

accredited college or university. Must possess a high school diploma, or equivalent. Must have a minimum of five (5) years of related experience.
