Job description
Duties and Responsibilities: Assist with operating and monitoring water treatment plant equipment to regulate water flow and ensure consistent water quality throughout the facility. Adjust valves and pumps both remotely and manually to maintain system-wide water balance. Perform process control testing (turbidity, pH, temperature, chlorine levels) and interpret results, including data provided by the Navy laboratory and Central Processing Unit (CPU), to identify potential plant violations and implement necessary process adjustments.
Prepare and maintain operational reports and conduct thorough shift-changeover documentation to ensure clear communication of system status and continuity of operations. Measure and handle treatment chemicals by weighing and performing dosage calculations to achieve required treatment levels. Safely operate trucks and forklifts to rotate chemical inventory and conduct reservoir inspections.
Perform routine labor tasks including cleaning, minor equipment maintenance, and general upkeep of plant facilities. Carry out additional duties assigned to support overall plant operations and compliance with regulatory standards. Employees are required to record their On-the-Job Training (OJT) hours and submit to the direct supervisor on a weekly basis.
These records will be used to determine eligibility for Step Pay increases & this should be provided to HR once the employee has satisfied the hourly requirement.Qualifications and Skills: Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Minimal or to no prior related experience or equivalent Must be able to operate a 6K forklift and lift items of 50 pounds Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and basic computer use. Must have or be able obtain a Guam's AB Driver's License Your hourly wages will increase based off your On the Job Training hours & evaluations
